Following up on my 2014 summary I posted just over one year ago, I thought I'd do the same for 2015 share some of my favorite images from the past 12 months. I took more images than ever in 2015 and without a doubt, had the best year of my life (so far!). I also think I need to update those of you who don't follow me on Facebook, since most of my recent posts have been on there during the last few months. Since the last blog post Tiffany and I have done so much, I considered not even trying to make a post of it but decided on making an easy to read quick summary you can read HERE. For my favorite images from this last year, read on:

Twelve Apostles, Australia

Rainforest, Lake Matheson, New Zealand

Lake Rimutaka, New Zealand

Southern Alps, New Zealand

Thunder Creek Falls, Mount Aspiring National Park

Breaker Bay, New Zealand

Morekai Boulders, New Zealand

Nugget Point, New Zealand

Farmland near Pirinoa, outside of Wellington.

Panorama of the Rimutakas, near Wellington.

Hundreds of sheep near Pirinoa, with the Rimutakas in the background.

Panorama of Wellington City, the Capital of New Zealand. Probably my favorite city in the world. I hope to come back someday. Tiffany and I lived just to the left behind the hill for about 6 months on Cuba Street, this image brings back so many good memories.

The hills of the south island can be seen from Owhiro Bay, south of Wellington at the bottom of the North Island.

The current version of my multi image Panorama of the Milky Way . It is about half way complete and soon I will add more tiles from the part of the band more commonly seen in the northern hemisphere.

The Large and Small Magellanic clouds as seen from Lake Tekapo, New Zealand.

A wider shot of the LMC & SMC above the Church of the Good Shepard in Lake Tekapo, New Zealand. The Carina Nebula is off to the lower right.

Another work in progress of mine, this highly detailed panorama of the core of the Milky Way. Each tile was captured at 155mm, so there is the ability to zoom in print huge. This image was printed in the January issue of Australian Sky and Telescope magazine with a "highly commended" title for coming in 2nd/3rd place in the deep sky category of the Harry Williams Astrophotography Yearly Competition.

The arch of the heavens over Cape Puponga, New Zealand.

Spring time Milky Way rising just east of the Wellington Airport.

Milky Way setting over Gunns Camp Valley, New Zealand.

Mt Cook, New Zealand.

A farm cat says good morning to a baby lamb.

Melbourne Federation Square, Australia.

A wild Metallic Starling in Daintree Rainforest, Northern Queensland, Australia.

Water rushing through Mount Aspiring National Park, New Zealand.

Mount Tasman on a cold clear morning seen from Lake Matheson, New Zealand.

A kingfisher in a wildlife park near Cairns, Australia.

One of my fellow divers on the PADI Openwater Course.

Some kind of Coral I found while diving the Great Barrier Reef.

To wrap things up, a sunset on the Atherton Tablelands west of Cairns, Australia.

Thanks for looking, I hope you enjoyed these as much as I did taking them. I can't wait for what 2016 brings.

Cheers,

Abe
